FONCA stands for Friends of Newlyn Conservation Area and is a non- profit organisation that has been set up to preserve and enhance the Conservation Area of the historic village of Newlyn and it’s harbour.

Newlyn has a rich history as a fishing village and an important heritage derived from its associations with artists of the Newlyn School.

Its international significance as a centre for art continues today, through the Newlyn School of Art, the Newlyn Art Gallery and the Newlyn Society of Artists.

Newlyn is the main fishing port for the whole of Cornwall, and is still a thriving local community with a wide range of facilities and services.

If you live in the Newlyn Conservation Area, or are interested in its future, then we would be delighted if you would become a member.
